Last night, at Mr. Smalls Theatre, the Fearless Friends Tour wreaked havoc upon all innocent victims in attendance. Pictures (or in this case, videos) say a thousand words, so all the proof you need can be found below.

Big shout-out to Opus One Productions for the tickets, and remember to visit the Opus One Productions Facebook Page for a chance to win tickets to upcoming events by simply RSVP’ing!

If you are a fan of Blessthefall or the metalcore scene in general, I have a bunch of other videos posted over on the Outsider Vocals Facebook Page, including some more Blessthefall videos from when they played with As I Lay Dying last year.

Enjoy! (the videos are in the same order as the lineup last night)

“Italian death metal” might not be a much-used phrase in your vernacular, but if you were going to change that – as the cliche goes – there’s no better time than now.

Previously, the only other Italian band I had heard of (I think) was Vanilla Sky; which, as you may or may not know, is a FAR cry from what We Are Building Ruins brings to the table. One is pop-punk, one is death metal…but I think their respective band names make that pretty clear.

We Are Building Ruins’ (WABR) band bio goes something like this:

WABR is an Italian modern death metal/grindcore band from Cagliari, Sardinia (Italy). The band started out in 2008 from an idea of the guitarist Nicola Olla (ex Mutilated Soul, ex Sanisickation). He wanted to start a fresh death metal project; a few months later Raphael Saini (Chaoswave, ex Misbelieving) joined the project.

The band found a valiable member in 2008 after many lineup changes: Omar Mameli (ex Catarìa) joined WABR as lead singer.

On June 14th, 2010, the band digitally released the EP Where The Sun Sets. The tracks had been recorded at V-Studio (Sinnai, Italy) by Villy Cocco, and mixed/mastered at 16th Cellar Studio (Hour of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Murder Therapy, etc.) by Stefano Morabito.

Where the Sun Sets has three tracks: ‘Rise Above the Sun’, ‘The Painting’, and ‘Raft of The Medusa.’

In my opinion, the middle track is the most well constructed of the bunch…or at least the one that will catch your attention the quickest because of the super-fast pace of the song. That’s not to say that the other tracks are lackluster by any means; and seeing that both Ben from All Shall Perish and Alex from Despised Icon are fans of the band (quoted by saying about WABR: “Damn, WABR is brutal as hell! I love em!” and “Sick stuff! Keep it up!”, respectively), you should at least respect that take on the songs.

I’ve embedded the track below so you can see for yourself. If the blisteringly fast notes at the beginning of aren’t enough to melt your face off, the vocals will pick up the slack.

Recommended If You Like: Whitechapel, Job For a Cowboy, any other death metal/deathcore bands
